You may request a renewal for an item borrowed through Interlibrary Loan. The library that owns the item will decide whether or not to grant the renewal. An item usually cannot be renewed more than twice.

There are two ways to request renewals:

1. In your ILLiad account, find the item under Checked Out To You. Click on the transaction number of the item you would like to renew and choose Renew Request.

2. Call or email your ILL department. For the University Library, call 651.635.8797 or email For the Seminary Libraries, call 651.638.6183 or email Let them know your name and the title of the item or the transaction number.

You will receive an email letting you know whether or not the renewal was granted, usually within 2-3 days.
